the gossip sheets flashed
Megastar breaks up Superstar's home 
without a modicum of truth
my stunt double Lara
wished 
in my Star's silver trailer
that she were I
celebrity with mega-means
and I 
wished 
that I were she
normal with anonymity
and that very day
Lara fell from the cornice
without a modicum of fear 
and spent her life
for our film Mistaken 
doubling for me.
And that same evening
I went to
the small cottage
on Rowena Court 
to console her mother
who opened the door,
cried and embraced me
saying
I am sorry for her
so rich and famous 
but I thank God 
it was not you,
